EGLISE DE VERS - L'ELUISET via LE BOIS DU BAN: 1h
At the foot of the church there is a small road in between the houses. It turns into a wide path leading to a forest. Follow this path until you reach a wide crossroads within the woods. Take the path to the left with its gentle descent under cover of trees. The forest area is very attractive with its tree tunnels and undergrowth.
The path becomes muddy as you pass along the pasture but it improves later on. Turn left on the path that leads towards the fields to get to the village of Eluiset.

L'ELUISET - EGLISE DE VERS via ROMAN ROAD: 1h 05
Having passed through Eluiset, take the old Roman road, being the path heading in a south-westerly direction. This path climbs back up through the fields. Just after the milestones marking a nearby pipeline, you will come to a very old and large poplar tree. Back on the path, you will notice the church at Vers as well as panoramic views of Léman lake and the east side of Salève. At the foot of Salève there are buildings from the Pomier charterhouse still in existence (former landowners of many surrounding areas).
When you get to the main road, you will see the old fruit shop opposite, now operating as an inn. Pick up this road until you reach the cemetery. Just before you get there take a left turn to get back to the village centre and church.
The former existence of a skilled forger is marked by a magnificent iron cross. Behind this you will find a house bearing a commemorative plaque detailing the work of Fournier Abbey.
