Montriond Lake is an ideal place for a children's pony ride with its fairytale setting. They can either do a quick half-hour or take a whole hour to do a tour of the lake while older family members can enjoy the bathing area…

2 Montriond Lake route

A site deep in a valley where there’s an imposing cliff-face and fir trees all around.In winter, the lake is frozen, in places a metre thick.The magnificent Nordic area is perfect for cross-country skiing. No ski pass necessary.

Offers 4 cross country ski routes:
• Along the lake on the left of the river looking down the valley (green level)
• From the end of the lake to Les Albertans hamlet (red level)
• 2 ski slopes from Les Albertans to Ardent (green and blue level)
The slope along the lake may be out-of bounds if the avalanche risk is high.

3 Under-ice diving at Montriond Lake

This winter, come take part in an icy experience. diving under the ice!
Lake Montriond is perfect for this astonishing activity. Open to all, whether you have dived before or not. Come and experience something different surrounded by professionals. All the equipment is provided but do wear warm undergarments.

4 Les Sapins Hôtel

Large chalet-style hotel in the great outdoors next to a frozen Montriond lake in winter. Ideal for ski-lovers (5 minutes' drive from the lifts), walkers and MTB riders. Open the door of the 'Sapins' and enter our moutain home.
Whether you come alone, as a family or a group, whether you stay for a weekend, a week or more you will immediately be under the spell and will just want to... comeback !
The site is ideal, in the summer two steps away from a beautiful lake, in the winter less than ten minutes away from the Morzine-Avoriaz ski pistes.

18 comfortable rooms for 2 to 4 people and a suite of two room for family.
All our rooms are equipped with private bathroom, toilet, television, telephone with internet plug. Must have a balcony and an unspoilt of the moutains and forests.
As from summer 2007 all our rooms will be non-smoking for everybodys comfort.
Free wifi access in our bar lounge and in the rooms, living room and outside terrace.
Free bus. Stop in front of hotel. Morzine to Ardent Cablecar and vice-versa. Passes every 30 minutes during holiday period. In summer the Balad'Aulps Bus offers several destinations (free with the multi-pass Portes du Soleil).

5 Les Sapins

Lunchtime and dinner, Les Sapins restaurant guarantees that you'll have a lovely meal in a relaxing setting…our head chef's menu selection is inspired by local traditions and uses regional produce too, a treat for foodlovers, big and small. Try the local cuisine and its many local specialities with a variety of menus to choose from: fondue, raclette, tartiflette, cheese toasty, as well as lake fish.

Children are very welcome at Les Sapins hotel-restaurant and we have everything they need; from a specially adapted menu for younger diners, to high chairs in the restaurant, indoor and outdoor games, a slide, swings and table tennis.

6 L'Auberge du Verdoyant

On the shores of Montriond Lake, take a moment to savour what's on offer at Auberge du Verdoyant: traditional cooking, locally inspired recipes and Savoyard specialities are just some of the dishes to try. Large terrace with panoramic view on the lake

9 Montriond Lake

This stunning lake - known also as the emerald green lake - sits quietly at the foot of immense cliffs and is a favourite with children and adults thanks to the idyllic view and the feeling of calm it evokes. Lake Montriond is a huge outdoor playground with something for everyone. It includes a swimming area that’s suitable for very young swimmers (lifeguards in July and August), while other visitors can try pony riding, canoeing, paddle. Older children and adults also enjoy walking around the lake to take in
the intoxicating beauty of it all... The lake is also a jewel of a find for anglers, with its healthy stock of fario trout and rainbow trout, char and tiddlers! A fishing licence is required.
