The Olympic flame

passes through Haute-Savoie

An essential part of the Olympic Games, the flame embodies unity and peace throughout the world.

This year, the first torch of the Torch Relay will be lit in Olympia, Greece, on April 16. This sacred flame will then travel through 400 towns, carried by 11,000 torchbearers, for several weeks before lighting up the cauldron at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26. On Sunday June 23, it will cross the Haute-Savoie region, passing through 7 towns, including Annemasse, before reaching Chamonix-Mont-Blanc at the end of the day.
