    This path runs up to the Grand Piton, the highest peak in the Salève range at an altitude of 1,380 metres. Its plateau is pitted with karrens. Panoramic views of the Franco-Swiss Geneva Basin and the Jura mountains, especially from La Thuile farm.

    Starting from the small village of Beaumont, the Grand Piton hike will allow you to reach the highest point of the Salève mountain at 1380 meters altitude.

    With a little difference in altitude, but without particular difficulties, this hike will satisfy you with its magnificent views. The plain of Geneva and Lake Geneva are offered to you once the summit is reached.

    You will also find the Bastian Tower erected between 1820 and 1830 by Claude-François Bastian, a wealthy notary and mayor of Frangy who replaced the former post of Guet.

    Also discover the magnificent lapiaz plateau, one of the most beautiful in the Salève (lapiaz is a geological formation due to the runoff of water between limestone rocks).

1 La Thuile viewing point
La Thuile is not an alpine pasture at the summit, so the view, of an excellent quality, is limited to the Genevois region, Lake Geneva and the Jura. In clear conditions you can see Lausanne.<br/>To the North-East the view focuses on the Salève, notably Le Grand Pitons and the cliffs of Collonges-sous-Salève.
