At the top of Présilly, the Maison de Salève museum tells the story of this range of mountains via a series of entertaining presentations.
Not far away, Chartreuse de Pomier, a former Cistercian abbey converted into a reception hall, will also be opening its doors for French National Heritage Day.
The buildings in the villages of Vuache typify a heritage that calls to mind the area’s rural past. Former farms, châteaux, churches and chapels are worth the visit.
